Sunshine and Stormclouds and Me

I discovered when I set up this blog that a few years ago I also had made a blog, however, I never once posted and completely forgot about it.  So here's to a new lease on blogging!

Disclosure:  I have been known to ramble, to geek out, to have unique opinions, to speculate, to cross examine issues from all angles, and really just think A LOT.  You have been forewarned.  Any of these or other habits may come out in these contemplations.

An explanation of the title:  First off, titles are really hard! How do you come up with a title for your life?  And how do you come up with a phrase that adequately encompasses who you are, the nature of your thoughts, your visions, hopes, dreams, aspirations, faith, short comings, trials, quirks, and everything else about you!? So there's that, but I think for now I am content.  Sunshine. One of my favorite things, both the word, its representations, implications, and literal manifestation. I love the association with the Sun, with Light, with Warmth, with Happiness, and all of the symbolic connections it has as well. Not to mention it has been a nickname for me from time to time.  Storm clouds. They are dark, at times scary, awe-inspiring, powerful, and beautiful in their own right.  Storm clouds are another favorite part of nature, and again very symbolic and representative of lots of different things which is why I think I liked it for my title.  The two together are a great pairing and balance for all of my life and the balance of everything that tends to go on.  The two in connection create beautiful sunrises, sunsets and skyscapes that leave me slack-jawed and in awe. I recognize the need for, and importance of having both the sunshine and the storm clouds in life and the beauty they form when they come together in divine design.

Me: I am, I believe, a relatively average person because I know that when you look at each person and get right down to it we all have bits of the same stuff in our lives.  We all have some things that are really generic, and others that are completely unique.  The mix is different for everyone, but the fact that we are all so individually dissimilar is what truly connects us all together.  I'm not average because I am the same, but I'm average because I know that I have my own set of differences that are entirely my own just like everyone else.  A few things about me: I am currently 22 years old.  I'm a college student, I love the color yellow, I enjoy learning and experiencing all kinds of new things, my favorite food is probably pizza, and I love that I'm a Mormon, and belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Along with that, I love also to learn about other people and their beliefs, their hope, and especially their dreams.  I think you can learn a lot about a person from their dreams, and I love to encourage people to reach for theirs, no matter how they might be, and also not to be afraid of setting their aspirations high to begin with.  Humans can accomplish miraculous things, and often the only thing standing in their way is themselves. So yeah, that's a little about me!
